Meet Jon Weeks: Sponsored Klean Team Athlete and Professional Football Player
My name is Jon Weeks, and I am the long snapper for the Houston Texans®. I just finished my eighth season with the team, having been with Houston since 2010. I started long snapping my freshman year at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Arizona, where I also played offensive and defensive tackle. After high school, I took my talents to Waco, Texas, at Baylor University, where I snapped all four years. From college I was invited to participate in the Detroit Lions® rookie mini-camp, and signed with the Houston Texans® in 2010.
As a professional athlete, I see it as essential to make sure I am properly fueling my body and properly training during the week, so that I can perform to the best of my ability all times. Without proper nutrition and hydration, I could risk injury, fatigue or even a lack of energy, all of which could hurt my performance on the field.
Living a healthy and active lifestyle has always been very important to me. It not only allows me to play the game I love for as long as I can, but it also helps to ensure I am the best version of myself for my family once I am done with football.
There are many reasons why I choose to train Klean. The most important reason is that it is my job and my career, and it is my responsibility to understand what I am putting into my body. By training Klean I understand that I am consuming products that are NSF Certified for Sport®, and therefore are safe to consume, while also helping me to perform at my best. In a business where we are drug tested often, it is always important to know the supplements you are using are clean in order to help maintain the integrity of the game, as well as your personal reputation.
A little more about myself: I grew up in a military family. My father was in the Air Force until I entered the third grade, when his retirement offered my sister and I the opportunity to stay in one place and build friendships. I grew up playing a variety of sports including football, basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey and track. I credit this experience with laying the foundation that helped me to become a professional athlete. I married my best friend, Amanda, in 2013 and we just recently welcomed our first child, Parker, into the world this past July!
